Our Philosophy

We believe a meaningful life is built through relationships, reflection, shared purpose, and the willingness to keep learning.

We do not claim to have all the answers. We are two people with different strengths, different perspectives, and a shared desire to live thoughtfully, serve others well, and build something worthwhile together.

We believe respect begins by giving every person a voice. We believe important decisions deserve understanding before commitment. We believe outside urgency should never replace wisdom, shared values, or thoughtful judgment.

We believe people should be treated with dignity, even when life brings disappointment or difficult decisions. Whenever possible, we look for common ground and a path that preserves both integrity and relationship.

A meaningful life is measured not only by the passion with which we begin, but by the faithfulness with which we continue.

We are still learning. We are still growing.
And we are grateful to share the journey.

Stories Along the Way

Why We Share Our Journey

We never set out to present ourselves as people who have life completely figured out. We are still learning how to listen more carefully, make thoughtful decisions, care for one another, and build a meaningful life together.

Along the way, we began noticing that some of our most important lessons were emerging through ordinary experiences: conversations over morning coffee, evenings filled with music, relationships formed in our community, unexpected challenges, and the small decisions that gradually shape a life.

We share these stories not because we have arrived, but because we believe there is value in walking honestly with others. Sometimes hearing that someone else is still learning gives us permission to keep learning too.

We are a work in progress, not a picture of perfection. These are simply the stories, relationships, and lessons helping us become the people we hope to be.

Life Is Lived in the Ordinary Moments

Sometimes we imagine that the moments which shape our lives will be the extraordinary ones.

The promotions.

The celebrations.

The milestones.

The destinations we've been dreaming about for years.

Yet when we look back, it is rarely those moments alone that define us.

More often, it is the ordinary mornings, the evening conversations, the quiet walks, the music filling a room, the laughter shared over coffee, the difficult conversations that deepen trust, and the small decisions repeated faithfully over time.

These are the moments that quietly become a life.

Over the years, we've discovered that wisdom usually doesn't arrive all at once. It grows slowly through experience, reflection, and the willingness to continue learning together.

Some of our best conversations have never happened in a meeting room.

They've happened while driving home.

While sitting together with our dogs.

While listening to a concert.

While writing ideas in a notebook before they disappear.

Those ordinary moments have become some of our greatest teachers.

As we've built Washington Pianos together, we've realized something surprising.

The business has never simply been about pianos.

It has been about people.

Relationships.

Trust.

Community.

Learning to honor one another's gifts.

And discovering that the way we travel the journey often matters just as much as the destination itself.

Closing Thought

Life is rarely transformed by one extraordinary day. More often, it is shaped by thousands of ordinary moments, lived with intention, gratitude, and the people we love.

From Our Journey
“Life is rarely transformed by one extraordinary day.

More often, it is shaped by thousands of ordinary moments...

...lived with intention, gratitude, and the people we love.”
