The Importance of Laughing Together
Why joy isn't a distraction from a meaningful life—it is part of it.
This isn't really about humor.
It's about balance.
Today you said something I'll remember for a long time:
"Sam and I both need laughter."
That is such a simple sentence.
But it carries tremendous wisdom.

The Importance of Laughing Together
There comes a point in life when we realize that accomplishment alone isn't enough.
We can build businesses.
Raise families.
Meet deadlines.
Carry responsibilities.
Yet somewhere along the way, it's easy to forget that joy isn't something we earn after the work is finished.
It is something that gives us strength to continue the work.
Recently, Sam and I realized something simple.
We both needed to laugh.
Not because life had become unbearable.
But because laughter reminds us why we're building this life together in the first place.
Sometimes that means enjoying an evening of live music.
Sometimes it means watching Ella enthusiastically greet the world as our self-appointed Director of Hospitality.
Sometimes it means smiling at Max, our Wise Counselor, who seems convinced that every important decision should be followed by a good nap.
Life has a beautiful way of teaching us through ordinary moments.
We've discovered that some of our best conversations happen away from the showroom.
Some of our best ideas arrive while we're walking together.
And some of our favorite memories begin when we simply decide to enjoy the day instead of rushing through it.
The businesses we care for matter deeply to us.
Washington Pianos.
Bellissima.
The people we serve.
The community we're privileged to know.
But those things grow best when we remember to care for the people building them.
That begins with us.
Because relationships deserve time.
Friendships deserve laughter.
And a meaningful life deserves moments that never appear on a to-do list.
As we continue this journey together, we're learning that success isn't measured only by what we accomplish.
It's also measured by the joy we experience with the people we love along the way.
