Dating from approximately 1987 and finished in beautiful walnut, this 6'3" grand has the substantial presence, responsive playing character, and rich tonal voice that helped establish Baldwin as one of America's great piano makers.

Baldwin grands developed a reputation for a sound with real substance.

This Model L demonstrates that character beautifully. Its 6'3" scale allows the instrument to produce a deep, resonant bass, warmth through the middle register, and a clear upper range while retaining the tonal richness associated with the classic Baldwin sound.

One of the reasons we continue to believe strongly in carefully selected preowned pianos is that instruments such as this can create an ownership opportunity that simply doesn't exist in the same way in the new-piano market.

The important word, however, is carefully.

Two pianos carrying the same manufacturer's name and model number can have very different histories, conditions, musical personalities, and remaining potential.

That is why we don't select a piano simply because the name on the fallboard is Baldwin.

We evaluate the individual instrument.

For much of the twentieth century, Baldwin was an important name in American piano manufacturing. Its larger Artist Grand models were built for musicians who expected substantial musical performance from their instruments.
