Restoring a fine vintage piano is both technical work and musical craftsmanship. Every instrument must first be evaluated individually to determine what it needs—and what should be preserved.

Restoration may include assessment of the soundboard, bridges, rim, plate, pinblock, strings, action, hammers, keyboard, and cabinet.

The action may be regulated, reconditioned, or rebuilt to restore precision and responsiveness. Strings and hammers may be renewed and voiced to bring back tonal clarity, balance, and dynamic range. Cabinet work may range from careful preservation to complete refinishing, depending upon the instrument and the owner's goals.

When performed thoughtfully, restoration can allow a fine piano to continue making music for another generation.
